Planning on laser hair removal? We know you’ve got questions. We encourage anyone looking into laser hair removal to be inquisitive and learn all that they can about the procedure and the technology.
One frequent question is:
Why do I need 4 – 6 treatments?
The answer to this question is found in the way your hair grows. Hair growth, whether on your head, legs, abdomen or other area, doesn’t occur all the time. In fact, only a portion of your hair is actively growing at any one time.
The four stages of hair growth:
- Early Anagen (early hair growth)
- Anagen (active hair growth)
- Catagen (regression)
- 4Telogen (resting, not growing)
Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage, (actively growing hair). Therefore, approximately twenty-five-percent of hair is removed with each treatment. After 4 to 6 treatments, the area should be free from hair.
We believe that educating people about laser hair removal is good for the industry, but great for the consumer! Check back often. We have a lot more to share!
